J. Benjamin Proctor, M.D., is a board-certified family medicine physician practicing in the United States. Dr. Proctor earned his Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University before completing his medical degree at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport. He went on to complete his family medicine residency at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, grounding his career in direct, full-spectrum patient care. Today, Dr. Proctor serves on the medical staff at Iberia Medical Center and acts as Medical Director at the Advanced Center of IMC.

A survivor of chronic myeloid leukemia, which was diagnosed while he was attending medical school, Dr. Proctor has experienced the American healthcare system from both sides of the exam table. Drawing on more than a decade of clinical practice, personal medical experience, and extensive research, Dr. Proctor examines the structural forces driving the cost and dysfunction of American healthcare.
